Multi million Government contract awarded to XMA
28/09/2011 10:49:01
Nottingham-based IT specialist XMA has scooped a multi million pound contract to provide all computer consumables and electronic office supplies to central government.
The win is under the Government Office Supplies contract (GOSC) and is worth up to £40million per year. It was awarded to XMA following a competitive tender, led by HMRC and Government Procurement in support of the strategy to improve Government’s leverage of common goods and services spend.
David Thomas, Commercial Director, HM Revenue & Customs said: “XMA has been awarded the Government Office Supplies Contract because its commercial offering demonstrated experience in providing a high standard of service, combined with significant and sustainable cost-savings to the public sector.
“In appointing XMA as our contracted supplier we are on reinforcing our commitment to save the taxpayer, millions of pounds. XMA has been servicing Government organisations for over 20 years and we are delighted to be extending our partnership with XMA with this contract.”
XMA will be responsible for providing access to thousands of commonly purchased office products such as media, ink and toner across central Government, to spearhead potential savings of up to 25 per cent. The GOSC is part of a new centralised model designed to reduce spending, improve efficiency and make procurement easier across Central Government.
Carlo Longhi, director, Government, Xerox UK said: “XMA is a highly valued Xerox partner. Now, together, we’re bringing the benefits of Xerox printing consumables to all areas of Central Government.
“We’re working collaboratively to deliver sustainability benefits and cost savings – enabling the Government to continue focusing on improving efficiencies across departments and transforming services for citizens.”
